As amazing as motherhood is, the truth is that it’s easy for our needs to get lost in the shuffle. In between kids, responsibilities, work, and all of the other daily nuances that we’re responsible for shuffling and making fit—we often forego taking time for ourselves and the ones we love, as well.

Mother’s Day, though, is a perfect time to step back, relax, and take a break from it all. It’s the celebration of everything you do and a tribute to all of the best things about motherhood and family. It is an ideal time to reflect and celebrate!

From heading out on an exciting adventure, perhaps a road trip, hiking a new trail, or renting kayaks—to more relaxing options, like a trip to the spa, breakfast in bed, or an afternoon to yourself—there’s no shortage of fabulous ideas when it comes to enjoyable ways to spend the day. If you live near a lake, consider renting a kayak for a few hours? Heading out with your family is a great way to spend time together while exploring nature from an entirely new perspective! Other high-energy outings include zip-lining, hiking a new trail, snorkeling, or horse-back riding. Plan your activity with relatives or other families to make it even more memorable.
