We all know the look – the radiant glow that shines through on vacation or after a day of indulging on yourself.

Unfortunately, though, this look can fade after a short time as we return to our busy lives – neglecting our self-care. This time of year, the holidays often take our full schedules to another level, and the higher stress can easily show through.

The good news, though, is that you can get that desired look back! Achieving a relaxed, beautiful glow is as simple as keeping your health in mind, taking care of your skin, and tackling stress head on.

If you’re looking to give yourself a refreshed holiday look, here are some tips that you’ll want to put to work!

Drink Up

Staying well-hydrated is essential for health – and that includes your skin’s health as well. Try to get at least eight glasses of water in a day (or half your body weight in ounces). Drinking water helps to keep your skin supple and young.

Having water first thing in the morning is a great way to help cleanse your body and get your day off to a great start. As you continue through your daily activities, watch your caffeine intake – try a cup of herbal tea. Throughout the month, be mindful of your alcohol intake. Too much is sure to reflect from the inside out.

Eat Well

It may sound overly obvious, but there’s much to be said about eating a healthy diet. The benefits of healthy food extend to your skin and hair. Cutting back on salt and sugar, and eating a nutrient-dense diet that includes plenty of nutritious fruits and vegetables and healthy proteins will go a long way toward helping your skin glow, and your hair to feel supple and strong.

Rich foods and sweet treats tend to be everywhere we turn this month. Just be selective with when and how you choose to mix them in!

Work Out

Working out is a great way to stay fit, and as a bonus will help to give you a youthful, energetic glow. Try jogging, tennis, swimming, Pilates – or sign up for a dance class. Pick something that’s enjoyable. If it’s fun, you’ll be more likely to stick with it longer. Although the holidays are a busy season, time for exercise shouldn’t be neglected.

The number one thing that completes your holiday glow is, of course, the reduction of stress in your life. One of the best ways to recover from tiredness and stress is by having some down time. So carve out some time for yourself – enjoy a spa day, a coffee date with friends, a pedicure, or simply a long bath before bed. Choose something that relaxes you, and go do it.

A beautiful glow isn’t something that should just appear on vacations or when we finally take a day to ourselves. Give yourself a healthy boost, rejuvenate your skin, and refresh your look to gain back that radiant look. Aim for implementing these tips on a daily basis, and commit to carving out time for yourself during busy seasons like the holidays.
