It’s here! We recently launched our all-new, flexible Today & To-Do undated planners!
Your excitement and interest in this new Day Designer collection have been wonderful! We are so pleased to provide this slim and flexible organizing solution to those of you who can benefit from it.
We’ve taken note of the top questions we’re getting and included the answers to those below.
What is the Today & To-Do?
The Today & To-Do is a completely different type of planning system. It’s undated so you have the flexibility to use it on an as-needed basis. Plus, you can choose your view depending on your planning preferences for any given project or season. Simply put, it will be there for you whenever you need it!
Check out our last post for the top five reasons we think you’ll love it—from its versatility to its refined look and portable size.
What are the cover styles, material, and size?
You can choose between two cover styles: Hudson Navy and Camden Rose. Take a closer look at these two beauties here!
The durable, vegan leather has a pebble finish and gold embellishments. Charming gold dot lining and gilt edging on the pages finishes the luxe look. The overall dimensions are 8.25″ wide x 10.25″ tall—but only 0.5″ thick—so it’s easy to carry or slip in a bag.
What’s inside the Today & To-Do? What is the order of the pages?
The Today & To-Do includes:
- Cover page for your name and personal contact information
- Note from Day Designer founder, Whitney English, on living a well-designed life
- Goal-setting worksheets
- 12-month overview in a two-page spread format dated July 2018 through June 2019
- 13 monthly views in a two-page spread format (These are all grouped together.)
- 15 weekly view pages in a two-page horizontal spread format (These are all grouped together.)
- 90 three-column daily planning pages (These are all grouped together.)
- 10 lined notes pages
- 2 ribbon bookmarks
Why does it include this number of monthly, weekly, and daily pages?
This flexible planner format was designed to grab whenever you need it most. Some months, weeks, and days are busier (or less busy!) than others.
Need to plan ahead? The monthly planning pages help you map out key dates and timelines.
Want to map out activities and appointments? Rely on the weekly page.
Hoping for a highly productive day? Map it out on a daily page.
Planning a special project on the side? Dedicate your Today & To-Do pages to those tasks and plans.
How can I easily find my place within this planner?
The Today & To-Do includes monthly, weekly, and daily pages that are grouped together. The two ribbon bookmarks help mark your places in your planner for quick and easy reference!
Years ago, you had a spiral-bound planner named the Today & To-Do. Is this one similar?
Not really! The all-new Today & To-Do is similar in that it is undated, offering a more flexible method of planning. That is something we really wanted to bring back but in a book-bound format.
Do you have other sizes and cover styles planned for the Today & To-Do?
We don’t at this time—but we’re always listening to your feedback, so be sure to share your thoughts with us!
Where can I shop for the Today & To-Do or learn more?

What are people saying about the Today & To-Do?
“I just tried the printable and I’m in love. Ordering now!!
– @frontrowmama
“This is AMAZING and just what I’ve been searching for for months! I prefer the spiral of the flagship but this layout is just genius and speaks to my planner soul. One of my favorite things about it… Saturday and Sunday can have the full daily page layout!! Can’t stop obsessing.” – @jessicaheidi7
“These are so perfect for an everyday executive trying to balance meetings and to do lists with family relax days. Some days are crazy with meetings and others need less structure. Some days we are so busy we don’t manage to get to our planner and now don’t have to feel guilty for empty spaces/days. Such a great flexible product. Thank you for making it!” – @marcieb13
This is perfect to keep track of my client sessions and take quick notes as needed!!!! LOVE THIS! – @mya2205

Question, how flexible is the spring, I think the idea is great but worry it’s not going to lay as flat as the spiral bound and it’s going to be harder to write in the center of the book?
Hi, Lindsey! Great question! The Today & To-Do was designed to lay flat. You shouldn’t have any trouble writing in the center!
I had the same concern but it lays very flat. This has not been an issue at all. And the nice thing is, unlike a spiral binding, there’s no bump in the middle when you are trying to write in spaces close to the edge of the page!
Thank you so much for sharing, Megan!!
Does this planner lay flat when open?
Hi, Michelle! Yes, our Today & To-Do was designed to lay flat.
Would love this with more covers, spiral or perforated pages as well. Looks great for my needs except that I would prefer a smaller size. I was really sad to see the undated a5 size go!
Hi, Liz! Thanks so much for taking the time to write in, and provide your helpful feedback!
Me too! I would buy years and years worth in the A5 size! Please please please bring them back… love the new color addition.
I love the idea of a bound, undated planner! One question though, does the planner lay flat when opened? I hate composition notebooks for the reason that you can never write all the way to the edge of a page (particularly when you’re left-handed 🙁 )
Thank you for your time
Hi, Melissa! We intentionally designed our T&TD planner covers to be sturdy. We want to be sure they are durable and functional throughout the life of your planner! Given that the product is new, the covers may be taut, but will loosen over time with everyday use.
I just checked this out because I am enrolled in email updates and got the notification. I love it and it’s exactly what I have been looking for but I already settled, again, on your flagship about a month ago as the next best thing. I have always thought and spoke highly of your brand, recommend it to everyone and returned numerous times as a loyal customer. So, I’m actually quite frustrated that you would wait to release this until JUST after everyone with academic year planners had to renew. I didn’t mind spending $80 last month to support your brand and have planning tools for the next 12 months until seeing this. Honestly, it’s disappointing enough to change my entire view of your brand which hopefully makes you as sad as it makes me.
Thanks so much for your feedback, Kylie. We have always dedicated separate release dates for our various products. A lot of time and effort goes into this process, and we want to be sure that we are continuing to bring our customers the best quality planners possible! That said, we are an intentionally small company, and completely virtual, and so we rely heavily on social media, and our newsletter to get the word out on our latest news on new product releases and product availability. We do our best to give our customers who are following us along as much notice as possible so they are well informed, and know what to expect for up & coming products!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write in, and provide your helpful feedback! We truly appreciate it, and we truly appreciate YOU!!
Will a 2019 Today & To Do be made available soon?
Yes, Colleen! That is in the works. Please stay tuned for further details!
This is right up my alley. Just wish it was smaller!
Thanks for your note, Bianca! We’re so happy to hear that you like the general concept! We hope you find a planner that is the perfect format and size for you. Feel free to enjoy our free printables in the meantime! Thanks again, Bianca!
I’m a big user of your daily planning pages; I’m so glad to see an undated planner, especially of this size: daily planning pages NEED the extra space so writing isn’t squeezed. Beautiful and portable is icing on the cake. All great stuff. However, it doesn’t make much sense that the monthly pages last you for OVER a year, whereas the weekly pages last you 15 weeks (about 4 months, let’s say) and the daily pages last you anywhere from 18 weeks (at 5 pages a week) to over a year. The bottleneck is the weekly pages. I’d much prefer a few of the monthly pages being sacrificed for more weekly pages, so that one can use this planner for 6 months (6 pages cut from monthly to add 6 more to weekly makes the planner perfect for 6 month use). And I’m sure a 2-page yearly spread with writing space for each month will be sufficient to make long-term plans for the second 6 months of the year; we don’t need full-page months for the second half of the year, assuming the planners are made to last 6 months minimum, a year maximum (depending on use). I really hope your 2019 planners do this! By shifting a few pages from monthly to weekly this planner turns from a 4-6 month use case to a 6-12 month use case, making it so much more appealing and useful to me and others!
Thank you so much for your helpful feedback! We will be happy to consider this while making future changes to our Day Designer products! Have a wonderful day!!
I agree – this is keeping my from buying this planner bc it won’t all align. Potentially you’ll have to copy over info to a new planner or something. Also with that price tag I want it to last AT LEAST 6 full months.
Hi Rachel, Thank you for your feedback on the Today & To-Do! We will make note of it.
I am very interested in purchasing a today-to do planner, but the visuals showing the page layouts are very hard to see. I cant see the titles of the boxes. Everything is very pale. How can I see a clear visual of these pages? I have no idea what’s printed on these pages. Thank you
Eileen
Hi, Eileen! A great way to try out the Today + To-Do is by downloading a Free Today + To-Do printable page. You can find it here!
I’d love to see 2020 bring this into the spiral bound, hard cover, with enough pages to last the entire year, an elastic strap, and 2 pen holders.
Also, I’m a an amateur artist so would love to see thicker pages so when my creativity sets in and I must doodle, draw, color, etc. it would be nice if the pages could handle that without bleed through from my markers (both watercolor and permanent).
Thanks so much for creating such fun and easy to use planners.
Rhonda
Is this planner a true 12 month planner?
Thank you so much for making a planner with weekly and daily pages included! I’ve had to use two planners for years because I need a weekly planner for assignments and projects (I’m in graduate school with a full time job) and I need a daily planner to plan my day’s schedule and to figure out what I can reasonably accomplish (I have so many things due every week that a monthly spread just doesn’t give me enough lines).
Could you possibly make a today and to do that is for 6 months instead of three? That way I can have one book for Fall and one book for Spring semester?
Also could you Reorganize the book so a monthly spread, a weekly spread and then 7 daily sheets (repeat the weekly and monthly spreads until the month is over). That would be super helpful! But I love the two ribbons it allows me to mark what week and day I’m on.
I was also wondering if you could do monthly tabs (e.g. month one, month two, month three, etc.).
Hi Elizabeth, Thank you so much for your feedback! Our team will review and keep it in mind!
Hi! I love your planner but was so disappointed to see that for the 2021 daily edition you made it two columns instead of 3. The notes section was so priceless to me and was the reason I bought it for the last three years as that column became my phone calls to make column. I truly hope you would consider adding the 3rd column next year and perhaps even making it slightly larger like 8×11”. Thank you!
Hi Barbara! Thanks for your feedback. We’re wondering if perhaps you purchased a different layout this year. Feel free to email us at info@daydesigner so that we can help you find the one you’re looking for! Thank you!
